A town is included in care of historical monuments. We don't know from historical documents an accurate time of its arise. We know only first written mention from latin document about Sobunka civitas, what could be the first name of Sobotka.
The most important monument is a Gothic-Renaissance church of St. Mary Magdalene from the 16th Century. To the town's zone of sights belong also one or two-storey houses.
Sobotka is the birthplace of the famous writer and poet Fráňa Šrámek (1877-1952). In the Šrámek's house is the interesting exposition.
Near Sobotka there is a chateau Humprecht. It's a originally hunting lodge from the 17th century. The layout of the chateau is elliptical and resembles the Galatian tower in Constantinople.
